Five Turns of the Hourglass

The narrator takes his dead father to a desert hotel for a silent retreat. They encounter various difficulties and strange experiences. Locked in a hot room, they fall through and encounter water and other oddities. Eventually, they reach a sandy place. The narrator buries his father in the desert and leaves, with some changes and memories.
